VW Taos vs. VW Tiguan: Which Small SUV Best Suits Allentown Drivers?

Three-row Tiguan models have 12 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 33 cubic feet behind the second row and a total of 65.3 cubic feet. Cabin Materials

You'll spend a lot of time in your SUV, so you should get one that has a comfortable, attractive interior. The new Volkswagen Taos has an ergonomically arranged cockpit, with buttons and knobs that are easy to reach. However, there many hard plastics in the cabin that bring down its overall ambiance. Synthetic leather upholstery comes standard in the Taos, but genuine leather is available.

The new VW Tiguan has a handsome interior with a plethora of soft-touch materials. Cloth upholstery comes standard, but simulated or authentic leather is available. Heated seats are standard in the Tiguan for quick warmth on frosty days in Bethlehem.

Infotainment Systems

Performance

Engine/Acceleration

All new Volkswagen Taos models come with a turbocharged 158-horsepower four-cylinder engine that has ample oomph for ordinary driving.

The new VW Tiguan comes standard with a turbocharged 184-horsepower four-cylinder motor, but since it's a bigger SUV, it doesn't accelerate much faster than the Taos.

Fuel Economy

Thrifty Allentown drivers who want to cut their fuel expenses will appreciate that the new VW Taos earns 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway when properly equipped.

The new Volkswagen Tiguan only returns 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway in its most efficient configuration.
